Xin has a spot. Like it or not he made the most entires and imo that merits the spot. Now yes, guys like OLE (who I intend to vote for FYI), Lucas92 and Pineapple all did good in the prelims, but none of them showed the kind of effort Xin did.
Also there is really no limit on the bonus spots, Xin did not grab one from one of those guys.
There is a chance I will hand out a late bonus spot if I see some nice work from these guys soon, thats the good thing about having such a long building period.
I like getting better at the game. Deanosrs, who hated that 'something' park, said I deserved it more, but congrats Xin, Zodiac, and JDP (cute little park there) on getting in the PT3. And about all that hype about not being as prestigious, I wouldn't know, so this is perfectly fine for me.
mmm....Kumba ... there's a diffrence between parks submitted and efford put into it.
IMO pineapple and lucas both showed more efford .... they both submitted really nice entrys which (no hard feeling to Xin) took more efford than all Xin's entrys ....
but still I'm curious to see what Xin will enter ...
JDP and Zodiac, i cant open your entries because im missing objects. Which bench did you use?
Xin`s entry was very unfinished and Rapipo`s was quite nice actually, too bad it was so small. Ill post more feedback once i have seen all entries.
Sorry Ole but i dont have LL installed on this pc.
Well I do kinda agree actually but he did say potential, not like it was certain. What has to be understood is that these last few "bonus spots" are really going to be NOBODY who'll have a good chance of winning this (with Levis as the exception but he actually came close to winning a round). Those people are either Parkmakers or who won a prelim outright. It's all down to who can build the best entry out of the dregs of the prelims (sorry, pineapple, xin, lucas, RaPiPo, etc.... but I'm including myself in this) and who out of these people can finish an entry.
Obviously stranger things have happened and maybe one of these people would go on to place high but I highly doubt it. And some other people probably deserved the bonus spots more but does it really change the whole scheme of things? That is why I'm going to give a congrats to Xin and zodiac and whoever else gets in with bonus spots. And if I get in then I doubt I'd win but I still think it'd be cool to be in the Pro Tour without winning being the biggest concern.
Oh and I seem to remember that pervious bonus spot winners have been pretty unreliable at getting entries in... and I don't see that this year. I see enthusiastic young players who will most likely get an entry in (even if most wouldn't consider it 'worthy' of the Pro Tour).
There is a chance I will hand out a late bonus spot if I see some nice work from these guys soon, thats the good thing about having such a long building period.
Are those of you parkmakers that are choosing not to participate in the competition because you refuse to compete against 'lesser parkmakers unworthy of the PT' really as pompous as you are being perceived? If anything, the 'not-as-good' parks will make your entry seem even better in comparison. And you say that you are busy building your solos... Isn't this pretty much the same thing? It can be if you chose to treat it that way. Parkmakers of a higher level seem to keep complaining about how "the n00bs are taking over and this site is falling apart", when really THEY are contributing to 'the fall of NE' more than anyone by letting this deter them.
It's not so much that... more that if iris had given me a bonus spot in PT1, I would have felt that was so well earned and that I shouldn't throw it awat by not bothering to enter. This time, I won a prelim by default and there isn't that special feeling with xin competing, it doesn't feel like a wasted opportunity or a privilege to be able to enter.
Well, I guess now I have to prove to every single one of you that my spot in the PT3 is worth something. My main goal however, is to not get last place. If I get second to last, I'll be happy, because that would mean that someone sucked more balls than I did/do.
just because an entry finishes last doesnt really mean it is last. After all you were brave enough to submit something, and it IS better than all the ones that send nothing in at all

Sorry but I totally disagree with this and I stand by my comments.
This is not just some fly by night contest or event. The idea for this event (as I understand it) is it is the Best of the Best competition and that it's original format was intended for Parkmakers and those who got in through the prelims only. It was not intended to be open to everyone. I tired the prelims in both PT1 and PT2 and missed out because my entries didn't win a prelim. I was fine with that because I understood the intent of this contest. Can you honestly say that the names in this event are indeed the best of the best? If you say yes, then either the quality of NE has indeed drop to an all time low or I'm totally missing the quality in these parks.
In short, this is no longer the Pro Tour as it was intended to be. We might as well have it open to everyone that wants to participate. For me and possible for those of us who remember PT1 and PT2 and the tradition behind it, this is a real let down. It's no longer the best of the best. Call it want you will but that was the intent of the first two Pro Tours!
As for me I need motivation to play this game called RCT2. I have it with my solo and I had it for PT when it was first accounced.
I don't know, maybe I'm talking out my ass and I've totally missed the boat on this but in either case, I'll stick with my solo.

Edit - Whats sad is you have people aiming for “second to last place” in the PT. WTF
Completely agree with you James, and you Six Frags.
Gone are the days when Phatage faced off against cBass in the most amazing prelim ever to battle out who should get into the prelim. That's right, Phatage and cBass struggling to get spots in the competition, and now look what it has descended into.
Regardless, I eagerly await the enjoyment of seeing (hopefully) many entries, and (even more hopefully) many top quality ones.
Some comments on the actual entries which the parkmakers may appreciate.
JDP - I think this park's main problem is that it's coming straight after Watkins Woods. It kind of seems to be almost that park on a mini, less detailed scale. The B&M and corkscrew were both too short for me, and the themeing around most of the park was kind of, buildings, trees, done. I remember posix's PT1 entry having a coaster themed without use of either and I remember looking at it and thinking how simple but nice and original it seemed to me... anyway, the out and back woodie was really nice, fantastic variation in the hills, and a well paced turn around. This was my favourite ride in the park by a long way.
Zodiac - you are the first person I know of that has used my Tussaud's fence! Haha! Although I think it looks better in the dull brown than the one you used but fair enough. It's not the best object but you used it as its best used in the queue line (it's ripped from Nemesis: Inferno's line). The coaster's layout also reminded me of my Oberon entry, but you did it better - there wasn't really anything I saw that made me dislike it personally. And it had a few nice features as well. The themeing was ok, I just think the station building was slightly over the top compared to everything else in the park. Still, enjoyed looking at it, I think like the 3rd design (DelLagos'), it was lacking a bit in atmosphere.
RaPiPo - I think you have a lot of talent, because your entries always have fantastic atmosphere for me. For instance, the roof overhang on the track. I think you just need to make your parks a bit cleaner - I hate referring to "rules" of RCT, but there are some standard things that this park didn't comply to that lets it down - things like it spending too much time underground and the blue trees were a bit ott (although the white ones did work for me). Having said that, the best parks are when these rules are broken and the park is still awesome of course. As in any form of art. Try experimenting with larger elements in your buildings as well, and getting them a little higher, see if that produces anything you like better. I'm sorry you didn't qualify - one of those cases where if you'd have put all your prelim efforts into one wildcard entry you would have had a serious shot.
Xin - what there was of this was better than what I thought it was going to be... however there wasn't really that much. The station was actually very pleasant, it just looks so isolated on its own. The layout was nice, but the end of the first drop was horrible and there was too much coaster track lying on the floor without supports, which rarely looks good.
Can't view OLE's as don't have LL installed, a tragic state of affairs as I'm yet to view BGSS. Apologies dude.
