Both parks were incredible, though, but I thought Miami's rides were a bit subpar. The theming fits my preference a bit more, though, but Atomkraftwerk is really ingenius in its burial of some stuff. Plus, any park with really tall landscaping done well is really neat.
In the end, it came down to me being on the Icons and supporting my team. But this could definitely go either way. I think a lot of people will be impressed by Miami's theming and how it is similar to SoNY, but that emulation could hurt it in the originality department, which Atomkraftwerk wins hands down.
Holy shit, wow. They're both so freaking good. I'm on great park overload right now. I don't know if I can take the NE Invitational parks aytime soon. My head might explode.
Miami 2040: It's all about the elevated highway! I love it when the paths go over and other each other like this. It's very complex and interesting to look at. There's some beautiful architecture throughout and lots of colorful and detailed theming. I do wish there was more detail on the beach though and the ride didn't really keep me interested. It's still an incredible piece of work and tough competition.
Atomkraftwerk: This park is wonderful! Finally someone else figured out the right way to do bushes. It looks absolutely stunning. I wasn't sure if all the elements came together when I first looked at it but I'm sure now. I love the suspended coaster's drop down the waterfall. And the ladders and elevator. And the other cool theming ideas like the reactor spinner. It's bloody brilliant. Once again I'm in awe. Some people might think I was involved in this.....jeez, I wish I was. It's wonderful. Both parks look good but this one has color and personality that really elevate it above Miami 2040 for me. Of course it helps that I'm an Icon.
Definitely Miami for me, what an absolutely stunning park. It's always amazing when Urban themes are pulled off well and that's the case with Miami 2040. I imagine that highway to be incredibly hard to do. Yet it is flawless and evokes a great feel to the park. The flowers and bushes looked really fitting to the architecture and complimented it well. Still it wasn't like the flowers had to make up for something. The architecture as well was very well done and the loads of rides for theming sort of didn't disturb me, surprisingly. About the beach, I personally loved it. A beach is a beach. Sand. What much should there be on? I found it just right. Sure there was alot of sloppiness in this park and so Fatha' must've had a hand in this (no offense ). And the other guy, hmm, that's hard. Dare I say vTd? I really don't know. Fatha' must've done the majority though. The only thing I really didn't like was how things were too close together. Orientation wasn't quite easy, but anyway, overall the best mini so far, I'd say.
Atomkraftwerk didn't have an atmosphere for me. All it tried to evoke, it failed. I personally think that the hacking in this park is just how it shouldn't be used because basically it was just weird and unfitting. I also think that the pathlayout was rather horrible. The rides missed space and a good layout to get people interested. However, the suspended was simply absolutely amazing. I think it's the best ever. Can't wait for these things to get in fashion. Whoever did that coaster, you're a genius.
It was certainly compact. I thought it looked a little sloppy at first too but I really like all of the dead ends and ladders. It amkes it feel less like a theme park and more like a real place. The circular orange fireballs (or whatever they were) around the electron gun looked really cool. it takes a lot of time to do something like that. And while the path layout isn't orderly - that's mostly because of all the height variation. The whole thing is built on a slope which makes it much more interesting than any flatland park.
Well, it can't be Fatha' and Nate because they have worked together before and no two guys can go twice. Anyway, Ed, the fact that it didn't look much like a themepark was what I didn't like. I think many people slip into playing SimCity or something else and forget to make an actual themepark. And just because it had height variations doesn't mean it wasn't orderly. The same layout flat wouldn't have made it better.

Surely thats the same situation with Hortsmann labs ?

I don't understand. I guess you want to accuse me with that "if your parks aren't as good then you mustn't criticise others" argument again. If so, then please spare me. We've had that so so often. Someone made a really good point last time. It was about a Picasso painting. When I'm looking at one of his but don't like it then you say I woulnd't be allowed to state my opinion because I'm not as good at drawing as Picasso was? That's bullshit. Would you please accept that I don't like Atomkraftwerk and end this childish shit? Fine.

I wasn't starting a bitching session, you've just started that now. I was stating that you contradicted yourself slightly because you say this has no atmosphere although Horstmann labs has a very similar one and you thought the world of that park....
Right, Adam, I tried to remember your stupid AIM but couldn't. Or you're not on, whatever. I don't care how annoying it is to people when they have to be bothered with bitchfights so I go on You started it by saying "wasn't that the same with horstmann?". I like Horstmann, that's true, I mean, I made it. Whether it's better or not than Atomkraftwerk is completely beside the point. Do you get what I mean?
Atomkraftwerk was an interesting park. I liked that suspended coaster with his B&M like track, great layout. The theming was also good, however there was one thing that i didn't really liked and looked kinda unrealistic : the huge drop of the waterride followed by that turn. I should have made a long piece of track before that curve, cause peeps will gett smashed to the right at the speed that you gett by the drop.
Miami 2040 was also a fantastic park. Like Coaster Ed has said, that highway is so beauttifull and a cool idea! The rides aren't really special (i have seen mutch adventure rides and S&S towers like these) butt still really fun to watch and wonderfull themed.
Both parks are really good, butt i've voted for Miami 2040. Atomkraftwerk was cool, butt it just wasn't really my style...

I dont use AIM no more.... I know what you mean, dont worry. I may have seen what you wrote in a different light
This looks like one of the best rounds in H2H2 ever - so get voting people!
Whoever wins, i'm sure the opposing team will be happy, because to be honest from the quality of these parks this is the best round so far in the whole competition.

I don't want to argue with you. Obviously you know what you like. But have you considered that some people don't want to build a themepark? In fact, this is one of the biggest distinctions between fantasy and realistic parkmaking. Realism means building a themepark. Fantasy means making a world and experimenting with what the game can do. As long as your only looking for themeparks you'll miss the point of every fantasy park that comes out. I guess that's how you want it, and you're entitled to your opinion. You don't need to defend yourself in any way. Just that one comment seemed odd to me. That and I think you have a funny definition of atmosphere. To me atmosphere is how detailed a park is and how well all of it fits together. If I can put myself in that space and have a good time than a park has atmosphere. Atomkraftwerks is drowning in atmosphere.
