Miami 2040 was the most brilliant park I've seen that had so few original ideas. Man talk about a clone. I kept going, where, where have I seen that before? I'm pretty sure I came up with Pyro and (Fatha's) entrance to their collabo with iris (wtf is that acronym again?). I don't really know, I guess that's it but I don't really care too much. It just seems to me that if you're going to spend your time imitating other people who excel at a skill and never advance from that it's kind of useless. But then I suppose it's okay because that is how you get truly good at something, and it's like honing your skills in a certain skill area. Anyway, about the park: The two original ideas I did find where the subway and Dolphin Stadium, which weren't exactly hard to miss. The park itself was a marvel to look at but it was incredibly sloppy and I'd say it was probably rushed, unless the maker was careless. Hardly any theming is named, which I hate because I don't know what stuff is. Then some things that were named I didn't know what were, because they had stupid names like "circle shit." The plant monster was pretty cool though. I just couldn't believe how unoriginal the park was though. Overall the park gets, hmm, an 8.3 or so.

    What?!?!??!?!
Unoriginal??? Show me something that is REMOTELY similar to this...there are TONS of orginial ideas...

    - Highway: Have you EVER seen this?
    - Miami Dolphin Stadium: Have you EVER seen this??
    - Subway System: Have you EVER seen that??

Call the park what you want, but its NOT unoriginal. Its the only park I have seen that is built like a city with all the amnetities(sp?) that a city has.

    Hey hey
I voted for miami since it had alot mroe to keep me watching.
Both parks however were amazing and it was a damn close choice. (sorry icons lol(

and fatha he did say the Stadium and the Subway were the origional ideas.
the highway was brilliant. And attempts at citys have been made before (with all the amineties) although not on the scale or with the success of this. My attempt at Springfield (way back in 1990/2000) being an example but there have been others.

Atom blahblahblah :) - Awesome park. The landscaping is great especially as thats what I'm into lately in parks its great to see height variations. The suspended is very cool looking and has a great layout. I love Reactor :). The lava running everywhere is great and it fits in well with the park the colours are great the little/major hacks, dead ends and ladders worked well. And I like the architecture so woop-ti-do its 2x2 I'm sure your get over it people. I thought it was good and it kept me interested in it because of the added coaster track and hacks so I liked it.

Miami - Welcome to Miami :) loved this again very different to atom. I loved the architecture the colours, use of coaster track and the height was awesome. The stadium was my fav thing. It was done so well and looked cute. Very well done and it captured the city (in the future) feeling very well. Miami cruisin' was done great and it was nice to see it wasn't just a massive speed race around the city.

    My vote goes to Atom.

Atomkraftwerk by The Icons was very good and looks like something posix, ozone and coaster Ed could have done if all put together. Not much originallity, but some great use of flowers and trees and there some great details. The only things that really bothered me about this park were the waterfalls and the overuse and poor-placement of ladders. Really, a great park, definetly one of the best H2h parks of all time. It could use a better name, a name that we can spell and remember, so we can compliment it in the future.

Nice compliments, but as for lack of originality...just look at Fatha's perplexion.

Well, as roomie pointed out, I did say the stadium was original, and I did say I loved the subway. The highway? Okay it was a highway. But I mean you've (obviously it's at least partly Fatha's park) already made an h2h mini with a city and road system. AND when I opened the park it took me like a half a second to know who made it. I mean you've perfected the style but after 2-3 years of that same old same old, I was just suggesting you try something new. I mean can that really be fun? Maybe.

And you can't deny the ride name flaws, it isn't that hard or time-consuming to go through and give all the scenery a name.

But again, it's not to take anything away from Miami 2040. It would have gotten my vote against many, many other h2h parks. It's just that nothing is perfect, I was just pointing out the flaws.

    This is stupidly fucking close!

They are both great parks and both achieve exaclty what they were intended to achieve I feel. I think this round is based more on style preference over quality as the quality in both is hard to fault/seperate.

I obviously voted Mean Green. Great round :)

wow only one vote can tie this thing right now.

i did not even need to look at the parks, if ones has the word "Miami" in it, it gets my vote.

Fatha', the only thing that turned me off to Miami 2040 (and it's very minor) was the predominance of white and brick textures. The red was a nice contrast and the trees and bushes too of course but all of the white buildings started to blend together a bit while I was looking at it. Atomkraftwerk excited my eyes more because of the strong contrast between the lava and the red/brown mountain and the green bushes. It's really cool how the freeway gives the map a two leveled look, I just would've have liked it more if there was more seperation between the lower level and the upper level. So that's my nitpick. There are some things I don't like about Atomkraftwerk too, to be fair. It was (and is) a very close round.

So what happens if the round is still tied after the allotted time?
  • Madhollander%s's Photo
shit, how hard can it get to choose from 2 parks..

atomkraftwerk was really cool, although the big height differences and the ladders connectting the various heights ware not really my "thing" i liked the structures that ware build and the strangeness of the park.

Miami was really cool, the big city and all the things in it must have cost hours to make, but it was to cluttered for me, to much stuffed in one place, ok, it's like that in a real city, but it made the park ugly to me.

Great work both, my vote goes to Atomkraftwerk.

This is one of the closest rounds in h2h yet, along with the first few h2h's that happened. Both parks very nice, atmospheres very nice.

My Team Icons had to get the vote

This was the first H2H where I had to null my vote, as I seriously couldn't decide. Definitely the best round in H2H history (as far as I know).
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
Yeah. Good job. In a vote this close, throw your vote away. ;)

We're up by 2... for now!

It's hopeless really. There's too many "big names" involved at this point to keep quiet for long.

its sad that people's votes are determined based on who named their scenery.

  • Description

This H2H2 was created by mantis and Mortician, two of the Icons premier parkmakers in the playoffs, winning the first round in the best match-up of H2H history, beating Fatha's "Miami 2040" in a very tight margin. Featuring lava infested canals, some psychotic theming, a great Mort liquid coaster, and best of all mantis' "Nucleophile" suspended coaster, that looks more like a Mala coaster then most Mala coasters! Great job, and it was a pleasure having both of you on my team.
