^interesting read. i think i know what you mean. i think what amazed me the most about magic realms resort was how well everything worked together. it was so integrated in a way. are there any tricks you can share about turning a bunch of ideas into a whole?

Ummm... tricky question. Maybe instead of answering it directly, I can counter it with why I think this park felt like it didn't flow. This park - to me - seemed like a collection of ideas, and the reason I say that is because the 3 stand-out coasters were very much stand-alone. The B&M has its own area and theme. The watercoaster is fairly stand-alone, although there's a Top Spin next to it with the same theme, if I recall. However, the Gerstauler is even walled off from the rest of the park entirely. Furthermore, where there were themed areas, such as the Gotham area and Pirate area, each one was really small in terms of size.

So basically, there were small patches of distinct, confined theming, all on one small map. I got the feeling that, if I was a peep in the park, I'd be walking around the park and just sort of 'bump into' the next themed ride. Maybe it's the park layout, or structure... I don't know. But yeh, for me, the park itself felt like a collection of ideas, rather than one cohesive theme park. So... to try to answer your question - why does Magic Realms feel more 'integrated'. I think firstly its obvious that there are meant to be six big themed lands - and secondly each land has several rides. There are no rides with their own individual theme - they are part of a bigger themed area. There are no stand-alone rides - instead 6 large stand-alone lands.

So the next problem is how to make those 6 distinct lands fit together. I'd say park infrastructure, layout and structure helps. In Magic Realms, you have a clear entrance plaza, leading into a central area, with a big hotel and the paths leading off from there to the individual themed areas. Look at Disney parks... they're all based off a standard park layout. But... yeh... I don't have any better answer than that, I'm afraid... I guess I just always try to visualise my RCT parks from a peep's point of view, and think what would work in real life.

This is a great park. but i do think its rides are quite segregated. I cant download the park as my RCT2 is broken (it closes spontaniously every time you try to save or load anything, if anyone can give me a hand with that, it would be much apreciated :p) but from the overview it looks like a real Good'n in terms of use of scenery.

Personaly i think it just needs to flow through more. It couldve been all themed on the same thing, then it would have been much better.

Nevertheless, it much deserves its bronze stasus. (y)

I don't know if you guys know this already, but if you go to the parks menu from the forums it still has the old accolades.
