  • Thought I might as well respond to this, since I just found it.

First off, I can't really comment about the quality or usefulness of the art. I happened to have the mcdonalds object and used it since it was the only stall like thing I had available. Regardless, I have no real artistic abilities and would love to get the shop maker in the hands of Couger, Toontowner, Amazing Earl, or any of the others who have produced some really great scenery for RCT2. (Incidentally, the Dippin Dots stall on my site http://www.interactivitiesink.com/rct2 was done by Amazing Earl and I'm working with him to change his simulated rides to real ones).

But to say that I'm lazy, or shit, for not releasing the program. Hell, man, write your own! Anyone with any sort of programming experience can do it. Took me less than two weeks. I haven't released it (a)because I simply don't have the time to make it user friendly and I've seen the questions that people get on Dr. J's extremely user friendly program. It takes several steps to make a shop, and I can't even preview it until I create a scenario in RCT2 and then run the scenario and then test it for position and so forth.

I do plan to release the program some day. I'm innundated with object requests and artwork from others, but I want to get the program down to an understandable process and to show that animated rides can be done. (Actually Wacky Worlds has shown that animated rides can be done without changing the code; but I want to try to create entirely new rides, dammit!) Until that time, it won't happen. And since I have to work a full time job, and I own my own game publishing company on the side which takes me out of own narly every weekend this summer (lazy! ha! I wish I had the time to be lazy), I just don't get to work on the program as much as I'd like.

I hear that Dr. J. has been inspired by my progress and probably will have shops in the latest version of his editor. His editor is already much better than my program will ever be. Wait. Have patience.
