We always talk about the great parks, but now that we have hit our 64th Spotlight it seems like a perfect time to look at spotlights compared to each other.

Thanks to some great code writing by Deanosrs ranking the NE spotlights is as simple as clicking and dragging them into place with the NE Spotlight Sorter

After you have the spotlights in an order from 1 to 64 that you are happy with please copy the list on the right hand side and PM them to Kumba here at NE, or send them to DRC2828@gmail.com

You have the rest of the month to complete your rankings, send them in and have them counted towards the seeding of the spotlights for the Spotlight Showdown Bracket!

The deadline for rankings is June 30th at 11:59 PM PST

After June your rankings will not count towards the seeding.

The seeding will be based on the average ranking of each park on all the list that are sent in. From that each park will be ranked from 1-16 and placed on a 64 park bracket where they will face-off 1 on 1 each week (Micro Madness style!) in a poll until only one park is left unbeaten!

I think it's a good idea, but 64 is a lot to rank like this.

Also I think there aren't many people who have seen all these spotlights, in fact there are very few who have seen more than half of them, as the majority is over six years old and LL.

By the way I forgot I had a spotlight and I had a brief WTF-moment when I saw my name in the list. I have no idea where to put it in the list... Not because I don't want to come across as arrogant, I just don't know.

I know it's a lot to rank, so that's is why I came up with the idea to have a sortable list. That is pretty helpful as otherwise you'd need to do a ton of copy paste.

True, most people have not seen all 64 spotlights, but maybe this can encourage them to check out some older NE parks.

^Well, maybe then you should only make the top 15 count.
Like you make one list with dragable items of the spotlights.
Those are put on a place and you pick your personal top-15 !
I'd love to do it that way, but this way I'd have to rank all LL parks and some others I haven't seen higher/lower than they'd actually deserve.

after about 35 or so, my list just becomes a sort of arbitrary order... its hard to organize so many parks, especially when in my mind more than 10 parks are very very excellent, so i had trouble deciding which ones to push back... and when lots of parks are just in my mind "meh" so I just dropped them at the end in no particular order.

What would really have been cool is if you had set up a system where two parks are shown, and you have to vote which one is better or if its a tie. after a while, you would have gone through enough of the parks to set up an order.

That's what were doing^ Just this is stage 1 where we get rankings that will let us know which parks to put up against each other. Next step is the polls where it will be park vs. park

So you are a foreign site after all and yet you use our content and call things official "NE" à la "the NE Spotlight Sorter". To me, this stinks like a shameful self promotion of your own little website and I will not support this. Also, it's rather annoying to rank the parks.

No, it's my site recognizing that they are NE parks. Would you rather we don't acknowledge they were released at NE?

@kumba... I didn't mean like a tournament style, as that has its obvious flaws... i meant that the generator picks two random parks from the list of 64 and then you vote on which one is better (or a tie). so I guess you would have to do this 64+63+62... times though (don't know a better way to express that mathematically?)... but with a decent amount of people it wouldn't be that hard. i know ign did a similair thing recently with their pokemon ranker.

I guess we could call it the N.E.ntendo 64. wow that was awful

I'm amazed Isole Calabria is so far up these lists... There was so much awesome stuff happening in LL before RCT2 came along.

I don't see how anyone (with the exception of a small few) can even rank these parks against each other. The early spotlight parks were the best when they were released. The game along with the tools we use today have allowed us to do things we couldn't do back then. Even if you look at all the parks, now, you don't get the excitment of the release back then.

For example: How do you compare "Mount Sinister" against "Six Flags Santa Fe"? They were built in different times. The biggest problem I see with this is all of the RCT2 parks (and even those in the last few years) will be judge higher than those released back then because MOST of the community was not around back then nor do they understand the wow factor of that release back then since they did not experience it first hand and I include myself in that group.

I understand the need to compare things, but this IMHO is like comparing apples to oranges to Bannanas Grapes.
